The Department
• The Department of Electronics &
Communication was established in the year 1999.
• The Department has sufficient number of qualified
and experienced staff members.
• It has sufficient space and equipment as per prevailing
norms it has 11 laboratories which are listed below.
(i) Electronic devices & circuits Lab,
(ii) Pulse & digital circuits Lab,
(iii) IC Applications Lab,
(iv) Microprocessors Lab,
(v) Networks Lab,
(vi) Digital Communications Lab,
(vii) Analog Communications Lab,
(viii) Electronic Computer Aided Design Lab,
(ix) Microwave & Optical Communications Lab,
(x) DSP Lab.
(xi) Electrical machines Lab
• The curriculum includes the emerging
subjects such as Digital Communications, Embedded Systems,
DSP and VLSI Design apart from satellite and cellular communications.
SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE DEPARTMENT:
• It is the Largest Department in
the College with an intake of 120 students and excellent teaching
staff of 20 members.
• Necessary teaching aids such as Overhead Projectors,
LCDs are effectively employed for teaching and seminars.
• Teaching-Learning-Process is very effective with unparalleled
industry institute interaction.
• At the beginning of each academic session, the department
staff prepares their lecture schedules, update the laboratory
manuals and course files.
M. TECH PROGRAMME:
• The Department has started the M.
Tech. (Embedded System) course with an intake of 18 from the
current academic year of 2007-08.
• All the M. Tech. courses are handled by the Department
staff efficiently.
TRAINING FACILITIES FOR STAFF/STUDENTS:
• Visits to different Electronics and Communications
Engineering establishments are periodically arranged to give
the students an exposure to the industry.
• The teaching staff is also encouraged to update their
skills and knowledge required by the industry.
INDUSTRIAL VISITS:
• The Department organizes Industrial visits to various
establishments in all over India.
• Most of the staff members from the department are
motivated to pursue summer & winter courses.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
• The students of this department participate in technical
paper contests organized by various engineering colleges in
India. Our students have won a number of prizes in these contests.
